NOTE for fix pack 21.1.0.14 - FIXPACK14

This fix pack contains a separate folder named RER_KBFiles. The files in this folder update the same files in the folder of the original CSDK 21.1 release. These files are not installed by the CSDK installer but simply copied onto the CSDK media. For most of the CSDK users, they are not needed.

1. For 2030370: Starting with this fix pack, it is possible to specify timeout for the AtalaSoft 2D barcode module. Additionally, the default value for this setting has changed to 30 seconds.

   "Kernel.Ocr.Bar_Atl.Timeout" - Timeout allowed for the Atala 2D bar code engine, measured in seconds.

2. New CSDK settings are available to control the secondary 2D bar code module Atala engine:
   

   "Kernel.Ocr.Bar_Atl.TradeOff" - Atala's tradeoff settings. Possible values: 1 (MostAccurate); 2 (Fastest); 0 (Balanced) "Kernel.Ocr.Bar_Atl.ScanInterval" - Atala's ScanInterval settings.

   Starting with this fix pack, the default value for the setting "Kernel.Ocr.Bar_Atl.TradeOff" was changed to 2 (Fastest), while the default value for the setting "Kernel.Ocr.Bar_Atl.ScanInterval" remains unchanged (5).

   For applications requiring higher barcode recognition accuracy it is recommended to set this TradeOff setting to 1 (MostAccurate).

   Note that in some cases, this change in the default value can result in slightly less accurate recognition and significant speed increase.

By default, CSDK returns the string without the Checksum-digit. The application can force the inclusion of the Checksum-digit by using the following CSDK setting:

  • Kernel.Ocr.Bar.Bar1D.POSTNET.CDT = true

• For 1697343 (26414908): A new CSDK setting has been introduced that controls whether the Start- and Stop-character of a "Codabar" type barcode will appear in the recognize string. By default and similarly to the previous CSDK builds, the recognized string contains the Start- and Stop-character. The application can disable the inclusion of these characters with the following CSDK setting:

  • Kernel.Ocr.Bar.Bar1D.CB.SST = false

• For 1679762: To get the barcode's supplementary code in the recognized output, the application is supposed to set the following CSDK settings:

  • Kernel.Ocr.BAR.bar1D.UPCA.SUPPL = true

NOTES for fix pack 21.1.0.4 - FIXPACK4

• For 1586168 (26263000): The fix is conditional. It is effective only when the barcode type is defined on the zone. The issue will not be eliminated if the number of enabled barcode symbologies is too high.
  Specify only the necessary ones, up to 5 symbologies per zone.

• For 1592518 (26237546): The fix is partial. If the quick barcode recognition algorithm can recognize the barcode, that will run only and the result will be fast processed. Otherwise, the more accurate, but significantly slower algorithm will be used. This way a good accuracy is still maintained with speed improvement, though the actual speed depends on how clean the images are. The more accurate algorithm is enabled only in TO_ACCURATE mode. When speed is important, use the TO_BALANCED mode, which uses the quick barcode recognition algorithm.

• For 1599482: for creating DOCX output with forced page size, the application should use the following converter specific settings (example):

  • Converters.Text.DocX.PaperSize = true
  • Converters.Text.DocX.PaperSize.Width = 12240
  • Converters.Text.DocX.PaperSize.Height = 15840
  • Converters.Text.DocX.PaperSize.FitToContent = true (optional)

  This sample above forces producing DOCX files with forced page sizes (W: 12240, L: 15840), measured in twips. Install This Fix Pack

Use the following procedure to install this fix pack.

1. Verify that the following applications and services are not running:
• Executables belonging to OmniPage Capture SDK 21.1
• Applications integrating the engine of OmniPage Capture SDK 21.1
• Antivirus software
2. Backup the content of the Bin folder of your Capture SDK 21.1 installation (to your backup-copy folder).
3. Depending on your Capture SDK installation select either the file KofaxOmniPageCaptureSDK-21.1.0.14_forWindows_32-bit.zip or KofaxOmniPageCaptureSDK-21.1.0.14_forWindows_64-bit.zip.
   Unzip the fix pack file to a temporary location.
4. Copy the files located in the fix pack's folder (CSDK_BIN32 or CSDK_BIN64) into the Bin folder of your current Omnipage Capture SDK installation.
   
5. If you are using the standalone version of "Document Classifier" and there is an Engine subfolder under the folder DocumentClassifier, refresh the files in the Engine subfolder from the CSDK_BIN32 or CSDK_BIN64 folder of this fix pack.
6. If you are using the "Form Template Editor",
   - if there is an Engine subfolder under the folder FormTemplateEditor21, refresh the files in the Engine subfolder both from the folders CSDK_BIN32 and FTE_BIN32 or from CSDK_BIN64 and FTE_BIN64 of this fix pack.
