Test Table Locator results

Once you configure your table settings, test them to see whether the returned results are as expected. Before testing your settings, you need the following:

  • A document set that contains a selection of documents from all classes in your project

  • Fully functional and successfully tested dependant locators

Once the document set is ready and all dependant locators are successfully tested, you can test your Table Locator by following these steps:

  1. Open the Documents window if it is not already open.
  2. Add or click a document set that contains suitable test documents.

    The document set and contents are displayed in the Documents window.

  3. Open the locator properties.
  4. In your Documents window, double-click a test document to open it in the Document Viewer (table mode).
  5. In the Properties of Table Locator window window, click the Test Results tab.
  6. Select one of the following Test execution modes:
    • Run Only <LocatorName> Run Only Current Locator icon

    • Run All Dependent Locators and Evaluators used as input for <LocatorName> Run All Dependent Locators and Evaluators icon

    • Run All Previous Locators and Evaluators Run All Previous Locators and Evaluators icon

    The image in the Document Viewer (table mode) is highlighted to show the start of the detected table and each table row. The Test Results tab is also populated with the values extracted from the table.

  7. Optionally, toggle between highlight views by selecting buttons on the vertical table toolbar.

    The highlighting changes depending on the selected highlight view.

  8. To test additional documents, click Next Document Next Document icon and repeat the previous steps.
  9. Optionally, close the Document Viewer (table mode).
  10. Optionally, click Close to close the locator properties window.
  11. Save the changes to your project.
