Return the alternatives from the first successful locator

When you set the Evaluation type value to "First of", the Standard Evaluator returns a list of alternatives that are above the specified confidence threshold from a single locator. The locator returned is the first one in the Selected Locators list that contains at least one alternative above the threshold. For tables, this option returns the first table that has any rows. The order that you define for the input locators affects your results.

Use this option to give some locators more weight by placing them higher in the Selected Locators list. For example, return the alternatives from a reliable Advanced Zone Locator rather than a less reliable Format Locator, even if the alternatives from the Format Locator have a higher level of confidence.

The alternatives are ordered according to their position within the parent locator.

You can return the alternatives from the first successful locator by following these steps:

  1. Open the locator properties.
  2. On the Settings tab, for the Evaluation Type option, select First of.
  3. To specify the Minimum confidence value, enter a number in the field or use the slider to set the value.

To specify the minimum number of required rows for tables, enter a number in the field, or use the arrows to increase or decrease the number of rows.

  4. To arrange the order of the locators in the Selected Locators list, click Up Move Up button and Down Move Down button.

This specifies the order in which the locators are evaluated to find the first successful locator. The evaluator returns the locator with at least one alternative whose confidence level is above the threshold.

  5. Open a test document and click Test to test your settings.
  6. Optionally, click Close to close the locator properties window.
  7. Save the changes to your project.
