Locate an item on any page using regions

If you know that a piece of information is always located on the bottom half of the page, but do not know on what page it is located, you can configure a region to search the bottom half of all pages in your document by following these steps:

  1. Expand the Project Tree and select the class that contains the locator to use.
  2. Optionally, view the class contents if they are not already displayed.

The hidden class contents are displayed.

  3. Open the locator properties.
  4. Click the Regions tab.
  5. Optionally, add a region if one does not exist already.
  6. In the table of regions, select the region you are searching on all pages.
  7. In the Page list for that region, select the "All" value.
  8. If the Enable locator for option is set to a value that conflicts with all pages, modify it.

For example, if the locator is restricted to search the last page, you should change the Enable locator for option to the "All pages".

  9. Open a test document and click Test to test your settings.
  10. Optionally, click Close to close the locator properties window.
  11. Save the changes to your project.
