Configure the keyword weight

The weight distinguishes between a positive or a negative keyword. A keyword is assigned a weight between -100% and 100%. Choose a value that is related to the relevance of the keyword. The higher the value, the higher the level of confidence of an alternative.

If a keyword is unique and can never lead to a wrong result, assign 100%. If the keyword needs to be found in combination with other keywords or might indicate a wrong result, use a lower weight. For each alternative, the weights from any relevant keywords are summed up as the level of confidence of the alternative, but the confidence level never gets higher than 100%.

You can assign negative values to use keywords as stop words. For example, delivery date could be weighted at -100% if you are only looking for the invoice date.

You can configure the keyword weight by following these steps:

  1. Open the locator properties.
  2. On the Evaluation Settings tab, in the Weight box, enter a value between -100% and 100%, or use the slider to set the value.
    • A higher value increases the confidence level of the format if it is found on the document.
    • A negative value decreases the confidence level of an alternative if a keyword is found on a document.
  3. To save the changes to the keyword, click Modify.
  4. Open a test document and click Test to test your settings.
  5. Optionally, click Close to close the locator properties window.
  6. Save the changes to your project.
