Add a reference document to a zone

In order to add zones, you need to add a reference document. A reference document is used to define the location, size, and type of zones used for extraction.

You can add a reference document by following these steps:

  1. Open the locator properties.
  2. Open the Documents window if it is not already open.
  3. Add or select the document set that contains documents for your class.

The document set is expanded so you can see the document subsets.

  4. Select a document subset.

A list of documents is displayed.

  5. Click Insert Sample.

The reference document is named Sample0.xdc (Reference).

  6. Double-click the reference document to open the document in the Document Viewer (zone mode).

The locator properties window remains open and accessible while the Document Viewer (zone mode) is open.

If you double-click a document that is not a reference document, the zone buttons become unavailable.

  7. Optionally, add additional sample documents.

If you want to use background removal, you need at least 5 sample documents.

  8. Click Close to close the locator properties window.
  9. Save the changes to your project.
