Create a local image cleanup profile

Whether you are creating a local cleanup profile based on a copy of a global image cleanup profile or from scratch, the same technique applies.

You can create a local image cleanup profile by following these steps:

  1. Open the locator properties.
  2. Open the reference document.

The Document Viewer (zone mode) window is displayed.

  3. On the toolbar, click Selection Mode Selection Mode icon.
  4. Double-click on the zone you want to clean up.

The Zone Properties window is displayed.

  5. Click on the Image Cleanup tab.
  6. Click Properties.

The Image Cleanup Local Properties window is displayed.

  7. Click Add Add icon.

The Add Image Cleanup Method window is displayed.

  8. On the list of available image cleanup methods, select a method and click OK.

The selected image cleanup method is added to the list in the Image Cleanup window and an example of the zone is displayed that shows zone before and after the image cleanup method is applied.

  9. Optionally, add additional methods until the text in the After running cleanup area has improved.
  10. Click OK to close the Image Cleanup window.
  11. Optionally, click Test at the bottom of the Image Cleanup tab to view the results of your image cleanup profiles.

The image snippet at the top of the Properties window shows the results of the image cleanup profiles. Press Test again to see the original image.

  12. In the locator properties window, click Test to see if image cleanup improves your extraction results.

If necessary, add additional cleanup methods and continue testing until you get ideal results.

  13. Click Close to close the locator properties window.
  14. Save the changes to your project.
