Copy a zone for voting

To apply more than one profile to a zone, you must have duplicate zones with separate profiles. You can apply one profile per zone. If you copy a zone and apply a different profile, each extraction is compared, and the result with the highest confidence is used.

For example, a class contains both handwritten and machine printed forms. The layout is the same for all documents in the class.

Create a zone for the machine printed text and copy the zone for voting. Then change the profile of the copied zone from machine print to hand print. Each zone produces a result, and a subfield can be configured to choose the best result.

You can copy a zone for voting by following these steps:

  1. Open the locator properties.
  2. Click the Zones tab.
  3. On the list of available zones, select the zone to copy for voting.
  4. Click Copy for voting.

The original zone type is modified to Voting and the duplicate zone is paired with the original with a Voting with <Original Zone> type.

  5. Modify the copied zone as required.
  6. Open a test document and click Test to test your settings.
  7. Optionally, click Close to close the locator properties window.
  8. Save the changes to your project.
