Add a class

Defining a new document type requires a class. Once the class is created, you can define classification and separation techniques, extraction settings, and validation behavior. The actions available are determined by the Project Tree selection and the selection behavior.

You can add a class to your project by following these steps:

  1. Open the Project Tree window if it is not already open.
  2. Expand the tree and select the location for the new class.
  3. Optionally, view the class contents if they are not already displayed.

    The hidden class contents are displayed.

  4. On the Design tab, from the Create group, click Add Class.

    A new class with a default name is automatically added to the class hierarchy of the Project Tree.

  5. Rename the class by providing a descriptive name.
