Table models

A table model consists of a set global columns or user-defined columns. Table models define the types of data for the locator to extract from a table. Once you define a table model, the locator uses the column structure to extract data from the table.

You define table models based on your business needs. For example, you might define an order table with columns such as Article Code, Quantity, Discount, and Unit Price.

Because a table model becomes a subset of the column pool, you can use columns in more than one table model. For example, use the Quantity column in an invoice table model, as well as, the order table model.

For each column used by a table model, you can define a default value. Do this by clicking inside a cell in the Default Value column and typing a value.

You can also specify if a column appears on a validation form.
