Add a tax rate to a country

Some countries have more than a single tax rate, depending on the purchased items. For example, there are three different VAT rates in the United Kingdom. The Standard VAT rate is charged on most goods and services. A lower Reduced rate VAT is charged on some goods and services such as child car seats and energy-saving materials in the home. Lastly, a Zero rate VAT is applied on food bought for preparation in the home as well as clothes for children.

If a country configured in your project requires another tax rate, you can add this by following these steps:

  1. On the Project tab, in the Configuration group, select Project Settings Project Settings icon.
  2. Click the Country Settings tab to view the table settings.
  3. In the Countries group, select the country to get a new tax code.
  4. In the Settings for <selected country> group, select the desired tax model from VAT or Sales and Use Taxes.
  5. Type a tax percentage value in the % box and click Add.
  6. Optionally, add another tax rate.
  7. Optionally, click OK to close the Project Settings window.
  8. Save the changes to your project.
