Use a document set to configure a project hierarchy

If you have a pre-sorted set of documents in a suitable hierarchy, you can use those documents and their structure to create your project hierarchy automatically by following these steps:

  1. Open the Documents window if it is not already open.
  2. In the Documents window, on the toolbar, click Open Document Set Open Document Set icon.

The Open Document Set window is displayed.

  3. Type in the Path or browse to the location where the test documents are located.
  4. In the File Type group, select a file type.
Tip If you have mixed file types, or are unsure what file types you have, select "Automatic".

If you select "Source" files, select one or more of the available file types.

  5. Select Include subdirectories.

    Several additional options are available.

  6. Optionally, select Create subset for each subdirectory if you want your document sets to have multiple subsets.
  7. Select Assign subdirectory as class for each document.

    An additional option is available.

  8. Select Create classes in Project Tree.
  9. When you finish editing the options on the Open Document Set window, click OK.

A new document set is added to the Documents window, its default document subset is selected, and a class is added to the Project Tree for each subfolder in the selected directory.
