General tab - Properties of Zone window

The top of the Properties of Zone window provides a view of the zone image, the name of the selected zone, and the three tabs to adjust your settings.

Position

This group has the following options:

Left

Adjust the left margin of the zone by increasing or decreasing this value.

Top

Adjust the top margin of the zone by increasing or decreasing this value.

Width

Adjust the width of the zone by increasing or decreasing this value.

Height

Adjust the height of the zone by increasing or decreasing this value.

Page

Select the page that contains the zone.

Rotation

If enabled, this group enables you to rotate a zone in 90° increments. Use this option is the contents of a zone are rotated and cannot be extracted by default. For example, some forms print unique identification marks down the margins of the page. In order to successfully extract those numbers, the zone needs to be rotated 90°. The value for this option is set toby default.

Dynamic Zone Adjustment

This group has the following options:

Left

Select this option to adjust the left margin of the zone automatically.

Top

Select this option to adjust the top margin of the zone automatically.

Right

Select this option to adjust the right margin of the zone automatically.

Bottom

Select this option to adjust the bottom margin of the zone automatically.

Blank Out Regions

This group lists any excluded portions of a zone so they are ignored during extraction.

The following buttons are available to manage blank out regions:

Add

Creates a new blank out region and adds it to the list. A yellow box is displayed on the image at the top of the window so you can resize and move it to the correct location in the zone.

Delete

Removes the selected blank out region.

Clear

Deletes all blank out regions configured for this zone.

Recognition

This group has the following options:

Use PDF text if available

Select this option to avoid running recognition for a PDF that has embedded text.

Profile

Select a profile from the list.

Use the following buttons to manage your recognition profiles:

Properties

Displays the Profile Settings for the selected recognition profile.

Profiles

Displays the Project Settings - Recognition tab.

Recognition Test

This group displays the test results for the select zone and its subfields.

Important These test results only refer to the reference document. If you want to test the results for other documents, you need to test them in the locator properties.
