These details are displayed whenever a Single Field Validation Rule is selected in the Project Tree.

The following options are available.

General

This group has the following options:

Validation rule is active

This option is available for inherited validation rules only.

Selecting this option makes this read-only inherited validation rule editable and independent from its parent. This means that you can make changes to this validation rule without affecting its parent. This option is usually used only if the associated locator is also overwritten.

If this option is cleared, the validation rule from the parent class is executed for this inherited class.

Validation rule makes uncertain extraction results valid

Select this option if you want to force an extraction result that has a low confidence to be valid. You should use this option only if the assigned validation methods are sufficient and strong enough to eliminate incorrect values. This option is cleared by default.

Validation Methods

This group has the following buttons:

Field

Select the field that you are validating with these settings.

Button	Description
Add	Adds a new validation method. The Validation Method window opens so you can select an existing validation method or configure a new one. The Single Field Validation Rule can use the following validation methods only. Standard Validation Date Validation Regular Expression Validation Single Field Script Validation
Remove	Removes the selected validation method from the validation rule.
Move Up	Moves the selected validation rule up the list so it is performed earlier in the sequence of execution.
Move Down	Moves the selected validation rule down the list so it is performed later in the sequence of execution.
