Create a state

  1. Open the process for which you want to create a state.
  2. On the Modeling bar, click States.
  3. Click New.
    The New state dialog box is displayed.
  4. Enter a Name for the state, such as ORDER CONFIRMED.
  5. In the Percentage complete field, enter the percentage of job to complete at which the state of job should change.
    Note You can define the percentage complete for every state defined in the job.
  6. Associate none, one or all actions for a state. Available options are:
    Restart action

    On the Restart at list, select the activity at which the job should restart when it reaches a specific state.

    Note If your process has an embedded process, you can also select a node from the embedded process.

    Event action

    1. On the Event list, select the business event to associate with state such that the event action takes place when the state of a job changes and the activity completes. A list of fields related to the selected event appears.

    2. Select State event to identify and record the state event and then select the variable.

    3. Map the variables to the corresponding event Fields by selecting the variables in the Mapping fields.

    Note If the required variable is not available, create a new variable. See Create a process variable or Create a server variable.

    New job action

    1. Select theJob type for the state. Available options are:
      • Create new job
      • Create new case
      • Create job in case
    2. On the Process list, select the process. A list of map parameters appears.
      Note Case Ref and Case ID options are only available for New Case and New Job In Case job types.
    3. Map the variables to the corresponding process Initialization variables by selecting the variable in the Value fields.
      Note If the required variable is not available, create a new variable (process or server). See Create a process variable or Create a server variable.

  7. Click Add.

    The new state is added to the list of states, and the percentage complete appears against each state in the list.
