Export locators

You may want to reuse a complex locator in another project or in another class of the same project. Kofax TotalAgility provides options for reusing locators so that they do not have to be defined twice. Locators can be exported with all of their settings and imported into another project or another class.

Important If you export a locator that depends on multiple input locators, such as the Standard Evaluator, you should also export all of its input locators. However, the dependent input locators need to be imported first. Otherwise, the settings for an input locator that is not available for the current class or a parent class are lost.

If you export an Advanced Zone Locator, none of the samples are included in the export file. You can manually add the samples after import.

You can export a locator by following these steps:

  1. Open the Project Tree window if it is not already open.
  2. Optionally, view the class contents if they are not already displayed.

The hidden class contents are displayed.

  3. In the Project Tree, select the locator to be exported.
Note It is not possible to export a Script Locator.
  4. On the Design tab, in the Edit group, click Export Export icon.

The Export locator window is displayed.

  5. Type a name for the exported locator and select where the locator file is saved.

Locator files use the .loc file extension.
