Move fields between field groups

You can move a field from one field group to another. Fields can only be moved one at a time and you cannot move inherited fields or field groups. You can do this by following these steps:

  1. Expand the Project Tree and select the class.
  2. Optionally, view the class contents if they are not already displayed.

    The hidden class contents are displayed.

  3. Expand the field group that contains the field that you are moving and select the field.
  4. On the Design tab, in the Edit group, click Move Up Move Up icon or Move Down Move Down icon until the field is in the desired location.
    Note You cannot move a field into an inherited group, and the Move Up option is disabled when you select the first field in your first non-inherited field group. Similarly, the Move Down option is disabled when you select the last field in the final field group.
