Configure the keyword direction

This option defines the direction of the keyword relative to the alternative. You can select from eight directions in a number of combinations. These include: W, NW, N, NE, E, SE, S, and SW.

W indicates that the keyword must be in the same line and to the left of the alternative; E means that the keyword must be in the same line and to the right of the alternative; the combination of W and E means the keyword must be in the same line, either to the left or to the right.

You can configure the keyword direction: by following these steps:

  1. Open the locator properties.
  2. On the Evaluation Settings tab, add a keyword or select one from the list.
  3. On the Keyword relation map, select one or more directions.
  4. To save the changes to the keyword, click Modify
  5. Open a test document and click Test to test your settings.
  6. Optionally, click Close to close the locator properties window.
  7. Save the changes to your project.
