Add a zone

To extract data using a zone, zones and anchor zones on a reference document are required. If you do not yet have a reference document, you need to add one. If you already have a reference document, you need to open it before you can add a zone.

Once the reference document is open, you can add a zone by following these steps:

  1. Open the locator properties.
  2. Open the reference document.

    The Document Viewer (Zone Mode) window is displayed.

  3. On the toolbar, select the page containing the data that you are extracting.
  4. On the toolbar, select the type of zone you want to add.

    The cursor changes so you can draw the zone.

  5. Drag the cursor to set the position and size of the area where the data is extracted.

    A window is displayed for the newly created zone.
