Classification is based on the minimum classification confidences and distances between the best and second-best confidences defined in the project settings.

However, if the Project Tree contains both parent and child classes, hierarchical evaluation rules are applied automatically to the classification result of each document. This might result in a classification that does not have the highest confidence.

The following classification rules and hierarchical evaluations are applied automatically whenever a class contains child classes.

• Parent represents its competing children

• Local not-flag

• Propagated not-flag
