Import a string substitution

If another project uses the same dictionary as this project, you can import a set of string substitutions rather than manually add them again.

Note A database can only have a single set of string substitutions. If a fuzzy database has string substitutions defined already when an import is done, those strings are lost. You are warned if this happens so you can choose whether to abandon the import or overwrite the existing strings.

You can import string substitutions by following these steps:

  1. On the Project tab, in the Configuration group, select Project Settings Project Settings icon.
  2. Click the Databases tab to view the databases settings.
  3. In the String Substitution group, click Import.
  4. Navigate to and select the substitution file (*.sdl), and click Open.

The String Substitution table is updated with the values in the imported file.

  5. Optionally, add, modify, or delete the imported string substitutions.
  6. Optionally, click OK to close the Project Settings window.
  7. Save the changes to your project.
