Image Cleanup Profile Properties window

You can use image cleanup to improve an image before it is processed. This can improve extraction results by adding various image cleanup methods. Once a profile is created, you can use it when configuring a zone in an Advanced Zone Locator.

Note If you are processing color images and use an image preprocessing method, the color image is automatically converted into a bi-tonal black and white image that is used for further processing.

If you select a sample image before opening the Project Settings - Image Cleanup tab, that image is displayed at the top of the Image Cleanup window, and you can check the effects of the activated filter by comparing the Before running cleanup and the After running cleanup views of the image. Use the mouse to move the image and the mouse wheel to zoom in and out of the previews.

Note The quality of the image cleanup relies on the layer order of the methods. Use the Up/Down buttons to move items in the cleanup method list.

The bottom left pane displays all of the image cleanup methods added to this cleanup profile. Selecting one of them dynamically updates the contents of the bottom right pane.

The bottom right pane of this window changes depending on the selected image cleanup method. You can add any combination of the following cleanup methods to this profile:
