Amount Formatter Properties window

Use this window to configure amount formats such as the decimal symbol or the currency character.

Amount Analysis

This group has the following options:

Allow negative amounts

Select this option to allow for negative amounts as valid input. This option is selected by default.

Require decimal point

Select this option if the input value is expected to have a decimal point. This option is selected by default.

Allow 3 decimal places

Select this option to treat input values terminating in three decimal places as fractions rather than whole numbers. This option is cleared by default.

Allow empty field

Select this option to allow an empty field to be valid. If this option is not selected, and a field is empty, it is marked as invalid.

This option is cleared by default.

Formatting

This group has the following options:

Decimal symbol

This group has the following options:

Select decimal symbol character. The value for this option is set to <system default> by default. This means that the decimal symbol is determined by the operating system of the local computer.

No. of decimal places

Select a number between 0 and 4 that defines how many decimal places are used. The value for this option is set to 2 by default.

Currency

This group enables you to do the following:

Use the Add or Delete buttons to insert or delete currency phrases. A currency phrase may be found on the document next to an amount. If there is no space between the amount and the currency phrase, then the OCR engine puts them together.

Testing

This group enables you to do the following:

To test the settings, enter some sample input text and click Format. The sample text is formatted per the settings and displayed in the output field. If the sample cannot be formatted per the settings, a warning or error message is displayed.
