Detect Zones

Detects zones and displays them in the Zone Wizard. The first time you click this button, OCR is performed on the image, if it has not been done already. Zones are detected and displayed in the Zone Wizard. Text zones are displayed in yellow and OMR zones are displayed in purple. On subsequent clicks, any zones that were previously deleted are shown again.

Accept Zones

Accepts the selected zones on the displayed page. For documents with multiple pages, you must go to each page and select and accept the zones.

Presets for Text Zones

Preset options enable you to adjust the width and height of the detected text zones, either before or after detecting zones. The following presets for Text zones are available:

Horizontal margin

Type or use the arrows to adjust the margins to the left and right of the detected Text zones from a range between -10.00 mm to 20.00 mm. The value for this option is set to 0.00 mm by default.

Vertical margin

Type or use the arrows to adjust the margins to the top and bottom of the detected Text zones from a range between -10.00 mm to 20.00 mm. The value for this option is set to 0.00 mm by default.

Presets for OMR Zones

Preset options enable you to adjust the width and height of the detected OMR zones, either before or after detecting zones. The following presets for OMR zones are available:

Horizontal margin

Type or use the arrows to adjust the margins to the left and right of the detected OMR zones from a range between -10.00 mm to 20.00 mm. The value for this option is set to 0.00 mm by default.

Vertical margin

Type or use the arrows to adjust the margins to the top and bottom of the detected OMR zones from a range between -10.00 mm to 20.00 mm. The value for this option is set to 0.00 mm by default.

Note As you adjust the margin values, any detected zones on the current page are resized automatically. In addition, if the margin applied to a zone goes outside the page boundary, it is truncated at the edge of the page. This is because zones cannot go outside the boundaries of a page. The margins are set when you accept your zones.
Close

Closes the Zone Wizard window. If there are any detected zones that have yet to be accepted, these are discarded. Accept all zones that you want to keep before closing the window.

Status Bar

The status bar displays the following information:

  • Number of new zones detected

  • Number of zones shown, accepted, and selected

  • Zoom percentage

  • Horizontal and vertical image resolution in dots per inch

  • Current page number and number of pages in the document
