Configure actions for a form control event

Configure actions for the form control events.

You can either add an existing action or create a new action.

Associate an existing action to a form control

  1. In the properties panel of the control, on the Events tab, click the event link.

    The Event dialog box for the selected control appears.

  2. Click Add. The Add form action dialog box is displayed.
  3. On the list of actions, select the required action. The selected action is added to the Selected items list.

    Note You can filter on actions to make your search easy.

  4. To remove a selected action click for the action. To remove all selected actions, click Remove all.
  5. Click Done.
    Once an action is used in an event, you can click on the action from within the event to open the action details, and edit the action directly from the event without having to go back to the list of actions.

Create a new action for a form control

You can create an action either on the Actions tab in the Form modeling bar, or directly on the Events tab in the Control properties panel.

For creating an action on the Events tab in the Control properties panel, perform the following steps.

  1. In the properties panel of the control, on the Events tab, click the event link.

    The Events dialog box for the selected control appears.

  2. Click Create new action.

    The Action dialog box is displayed.

  3. On the Type list, select the action to create.
  4. Enter a Name for the action.
  5. Optional. Enter a Description for the action.

  7. Click Save.
