Manage a business alert

You can add, modify and delete a business alert.

Add a business alert

  1. Navigate to Monitoring > Business alerts.
  2. Click New.
    The New business alert dialog box is displayed.
  3. Configure the following properties.
    Option Description
    Category

    The category to which you want to associate the alert. By default, your working category is selected.

    Name

    The name for the business alert.

    Note You can enter a maximum of 40 characters for a name.

    Description

    The description for the alert.

    Note You can enter a maximum of 255 characters for description.

    Create Job

    Specify a process on which to create a job when the sum/count of the event reaches the specified value. Do one of the following:

    • None: Select this option to prevent job creation.
    • Existing: Select this option to choose an existing process.
    • New: Select this option if you want a new process.

    When the specified conditions are met, a job is created.

    Monitor event
    Event

    The event for monitoring.

    Interval

    The interval within which to monitor a event. Available options:

    • Hourly
    • Daily
    • Weekly
    • Monthly
    • Quarterly
    • Yearly

    Criteria

    The monitoring criteria. Available options are:

    • Sum: Count of the event.
    • Occurrences: Event occurrences which reaches the specified value.

    Field name

    If you select Sum, select the field name to monitor a event against the alert value.

    Note Use Operator to define the Alert value.

    Filter fields

    The fields to use as filters. Use the operator to define the filter value.

    The filter option lets you create multiple alerts based on one event and filter the alerts using different criteria.

  4. Click Save.
    The business alert is added to the Business alerts page.

Modify a Business alert

  1. Navigate to Monitoring > Business alerts.
    The list of business alerts is displayed.
  2. You can locate a business alert to find a specific alert or search for an alert within a specific category.
  3. Click the business alert you want to modify.
    The Edit business alert dialog box is displayed.
  4. Make changes as needed.
  5. Click Save.

Delete a Business alert

  1. Navigate to Monitoring > Business alerts.
    The list of business alerts is displayed.
  2. On the context menu of the business alert to delete, click Delete.

    On confirmation, the business alert is deleted.
