Lock or unlock an item

You can lock or unlock items such as processes, forms, extraction groups, folder type, classification groups and the rest.

Whenever an item is created, it is automatically locked by default so that you can start working on an item without any interference, as it restricts the other users from editing the item. When another user tries to open the item, it opens in a read-only mode with access to the properties. However, the user must unlock the item to edit it as needed. See Lock status search.

To unlock an item the user must have access permissions. See Access control list.
