Create job in case action

See Configure TotalAgility actions resulting from Microsoft Dynamics CRM events

Configure a Create job in case TotalAgility action for an event against an entity instance in the Dynamics CRM System. For example, you can set up the Create job in case action for the Create event in the Dynamics CRM System. Similarly, you can configure Create job in case actions for Update or Delete events in CRM.

  1. On the Dynamics CRM page, click the CRM system for which to configure events.

The Edit CRM system configuration dialog box is displayed.

  2. Click for Events.

The New CRM event configuration dialog box is displayed.

  3. On the Entities list, select an entity.
  4. Select the Event for which to configure the TotalAgility action, for example, Update.
  5. On the Action list, select Create job in case. (Default: Create new job)
  6. In the Process box, select the process map to create a new case.

If the selected map has any initialization parameters, the parameters appear under Initialization variables.

  7. For Case identifier, do either of the following:
    • Click Case reference and select a dynamic value, or click and enter a static value.

    • Click Case ID and select a dynamic value or enter a static value.

In addition to the CRM attributes for the Create event, you can map two TotalAgility attributes: Entity Logical Name and Instance ID. These two attributes define a name for the new instance and return the CRM instance ID for the new entity instance. For the Update event, only the Entity Logical Name attribute is available for mapping.

  8. To map the metadata to initialization variables, in the Value field of each parameter, select a dynamic value, or enter a static value.
  9. Click Save.

The configured event appears under Events in the Edit CRM system configuration dialog box. You can edit or delete the event.

  10. Click Save.

When the entity instance is created in the Dynamics CRM System, a job is created on the selected process map at runtime.
