Configure SMTP Outbound

You can configure SMTP Outbound for email notifications and operator emails while creating a new connection or editing an existing connection.

  1. From the KC Plug-In home page, go to Connection Tasks > Add connection.

    The Connection configuration dialog box is displayed.

  2. On the Connection configuration screen, click the Configure SMTP Outbound button.

    The Configure SMTP Outbound screen is displayed.

  3. Select the Override Kofax Message Connector SMTP Outbound Configuration checkbox to configure the SMTP Outbound parameters.

    The parameters configured in the Configure SMTP Outbound screen will override the parameters configured in the Email outbound section of the Message Connector Configuration.

  4. Select Use OAuth authorization if you want to use OAuth for SMTP Outbound messages. Else, basic authentication is used.

    Click the Configure OAuth button to configure the OAuth settings. For information, see OAuth settings.

  5. Enter the SMTP host address.

    For Azure, use the following SMTP host address: smtp.office365.com.

  6. Enter the Port number.

    For Azure, use the following port number: 587.

  7. Select how you want to connect to the email server using the SSL/TLS protocols. The available options are: Always, Never, and OnRequest.
  8. Enter Username and Password.
  9. Click Test Connection to test the SMTP Outbound connection configured.
  10. Click OK to save the SMTP Outbound configuration and close the screen, or click Cancel to exit without saving.

    For Azure, log in to Microsoft 365 Admin Center (https://admin.microsoft.com) and enable the Authenticated SMTP option on the Manage email apps screen for the user configured in the KC Plug-In SMTP Outbound screen.
