Kofax OmniPage replaces ABBYY FineReader Engine 12 (FRE 12) in this Kofax Capture version. If you are upgrading from an earlier version of Kofax Capture, the existing FRE 12 settings are mapped automatically to the OmniPage engine to achieve consistent results. See the Kofax Capture Installation Guide for more information about using the OmniPage engine.

If you are upgrading from an earlier version of Kofax Capture and have existing SBL scripts, convert them to VB.NET or Visual C#. After converting the scripts, update and publish the applicable batch classes. Effective with this product release, support for Softbridge Basic Language (SBL) scripting is discontinued. New .NET methods are added instead of the methods supported in kfxvalid.dll.

Support for a new tool is provided to verify the PDF compliance as the Adobe Preflight tool could not be used any longer by a specific customer (1549178).

You can now install Kofax Capture service packs and fix packs on workstations without access to the CaptureSV share (1375410, 1375409).
