Time wizard

Time options define the time interval from which the data is drawn.

  1. Click a component to open the wizard.
  2. Click the Time icon to open the Time Options pane.
  3. Select one of the following:
    • Current: Displays data for the current time period (Minute, Day, Year, etc.). For example, if Day is selected and the date is currently January 12, 2017, only data from 12:00 am to 11:59 pm on January 12 appears.

    • Interval of: Displays data from a fixed interval of time back from the current time, or from the last available data point for a selected metric.

Note This is not the same as Current in the previous bullet. If ‘Interval of’ is also defined as 1 Day and "to current time" is selected, data from 4 pm January 11, 2017 through 4pm January 12, 2017 is shown, which is 24 hours of data from across calendar dates to the current date. The interval is still a day, but it is measured to the current time, not to the end of the current date.
For the interval you can also set rounding properties. For example, if the interval is set for one year and defined as April 08, 2017 12:00AM - April 08, 2018 12:00AM; and you set the interval start to "Month" and "Round to the left," the interval is rounded to the beginning of the month, or April 01, 2017 12:00 AM. The same applies to rounding to the right. If you select this option, the initial date is rounded to the beginning of the following month: May 01, 2017 12:00 AM.
    • Fixed time window: Data from the specified time frame will be displayed regardless of current time or other inputs.
