Set up a search panel

  1. On the Component toolbar, click Search panel and drag it onto a View.

    The Data window appears.

  2. On the Data tab, click the delete cross sign icon for the items you do not want to include in the search.

    You can also select Use All fields or Remove all options for your search.

    Note By default, all options are included in the search.
  3. To change the display name, in the Display Name pane, select a name and change it to a more meaningful name for your organization.
  4. On the Action tab, define Incoming and Outgoing Actions for the search panel.
  5. On the Incoming Actions tab, select which Filter Groups the Search panel responds to.
  6. On the Outgoing Actions tab, select an option.
    • Verify that theUse the value of the dimension as filter check box is selected.

    • Verify that Apply scope to the components of group points to the Filter group to broadcast to.

  7. In the Outgoing Actions window, make sure the search component Filter Group matches the Filter Group specified in the Incoming Actions for the components you want the search to affect.
  8. Save your changes.
