Add a translation table as a series to a metric grid

If you have mapped several fields in the translation table, you can use them in a metric grid. Fields from the translation table are added as separate columns that are bound to the dimension linked to the translation table.

  1. Create a translation table and map several fields apart from the required field Item ID. See Set up a translation table. For example, you can also map Name, BirthDate, and FirstName.

  2. Assign this translation table to a metric (to the EmployeeID dimension in the example). See Use a translation table.

  3. In Studio, open a View and create a metric grid based on this metric.
  4. In the Data wizard, click the Add New Data link and navigate to the translation tables. Select the field from the table and click OK. Repeat this step for all fields from the translation table as required.
  5. Open the View in the Preview/Viewer.

    Fields from the translation table are added as separate columns and are linked to the dimension that the translation table is assigned to.
