Install the Sample project
When you run the
Kofax Insight
installer, a Sample project is added to your installation by default.

Kofax Insight
Installation Guide for more information about installing
Insight.
When Kofax Insight is installed, Program Files\Kofax\Insight 6.2.0\Samples contains the Sample project, along with related database files. To use the Sample project, do the following:
Import the source database
You can create and import data used by the Sample project.

On the database server (Microsoft SQL, Oracle, MySQL), create an
empty database and name it. In this procedure, the new database name is assumed
to be AdventureWorks.
If you already have a database named AdventureWorks, use another name. The name is required later for setting up the project data source.

Find and launch Altosoft.Insight.ImportExport.EntryPoint.exe.

- Select Import.

In the
Select Folder
section, select the folder that contains Sample database files:
...\Program Files\Kofax\Insight6.2.x\Samples\AdventureWorks
- Specify the connection to the AdventureWorks database created above.

Click
Import. Wait until
the process is completed, and then clear the confirmation message.
Import the Sample project

Log in to Admin Console, and on the toolbar, click
. -
In the
Select a Kofax Analytics Solution .zip file
group, click the ellipsis icon.
- In the Open file dialog box, select File is located on the client computer and will be copied to the server for processing.

Select the folder that contains the Sample files:
...\Program Files\Kofax\Insight6.2.x\Samples
- Select the SampleSolution file.
- Click Open.

Select the
Create new project radio button and click
Next.
- Specify the project name, such as Sample.

Provide database connection credentials and click
Next. For more information on how to
create a new project, see the
Kofax Insight Admin Console Help.
- Click Open Admin Console and proceed to configuring the Sample project.
Configure the Sample project
- In Admin Console, on the Documents Tree, on the Projects list, expand the Sample project.

Find the
AdventureWorks data
source. Change the connection to the database where the
AdventureWorks database
was imported.
The database name may differ, depending on the name you assigned earlier.
- Click Connect to test the connection. When the connection is established successfully, the circle indicator turns green.
- Find the Sample AW data source. Change the connection to the database where the AdventureWorks database was imported.

Click the
Save all button.
Now you can start using the Sample project.
Launch the Sample project
- Log in to Studio.
- On the Documents Tree, select the Sample project from the list.

On the
Documents Tree, in the
list of
Views, select the
Main view and open it in the Preview/Viewer.
No Auth, or to User Authentication with Sample/password as the login/password credentials.To see the views in the Viewer, set the authentication type to
