Variants are signatures from a payment transaction document such as a cheque or money transfer order. Because the signatures do not come from an account application, they are stored and treated as variants of an existing signature in SignBase. Variants are not considered in automatic signature verification for a specific time period after they are first stored. This time period (in days) can be configured separately for each BNO by the system administrator. The default is 60 days.
