Edit Highlight Patterns

The Edit highlight pattern can be used to set system wide check highlighting patterns to be used in marking checks which may match one of the patterns to be interesting in the fraud analysis.

Patterns are supported based on one of the following criteria:

Check Amount

Account Number

Branch / Transit Number

The following possibilities or restrictions apply:

Check Amount

Multiple entries or patterns are allowed. Each pattern is one line.

One wildcard (‘*’) is allowed and only at the first position.

Following the wildcard (if present) up to 17 digits [0-9] can be input.

Comment lines are allowed and must begin with ‘#’ or ‘;’

Spaces are not allowed within the pattern.

Account Number

Multiple entries or patterns are allowed. Each pattern is one line.

Three wildcards (‘*’) are allowed. One at the beginning, one at the end and one within the pattern.

Up to 34 characters ([0-9], [a-z] and [A-Z]), including the wildcards can be input.

Two adjacent wildcards are not permitted. i.e. ‘**2A*’ is invalid, ‘*2*A*’ is valid

Comment lines are allowed and must begin with ‘#’ or ‘;’

Spaces are not allowed within the pattern.

Branch / Transit Number

The same possibilities and restrictions as for the Account Number apply for the Branch / Transit Number.

When the patterns have been input they will be saved to the database when the Save button is selected. Before saving any empty lines will be removed. The empty lines are not allowed but will be removed automatically.

In order to see the Edit highlight pattern menu item you must have ‘Edit highlight’ right. If this is not so then please contact your system administrator to obtain the required rights.
