Variants are signatures from a payment transactions document, such as a cheque or money transfer order. Because the signatures do not come from an account application, they are stored in SignBase and treated as variants of an existing signature. Variants are not considered in automatic signature verification for a specific time period after they are first stored. This time period (in days) can be configured separately for each Bank Number within the file custom.properties. The default is 60 days.
